Regional Battle of the Books Champions!

Howe Elementary Students placed first in the regional Battle of the Books competition on Friday, March 28. These students will go on to compete in the district finals at the Des Moines Public Library on April 18th. We are very proud of these students and their dedication to reading in and out of school. Tutoring Available for Howe Students

As a Title I school, our students may qualify for tutoring services at no cost to their family. To be eligible, students must also be approved for free/reduced-price lunch, and not have received tutoring services during the first semester of this school year. Attendance Challenge with Studebaker

Howe Elementary has challenged Studebaker Elementary to see whose students will have the higher average daily attendance each month. At the end of each month, results will be tabulated and the winning school will house a traveling trophy to honor their students. Howe students created this video to challenge Studebaker and will soon receive a response accepting the challenge. May the best school win!
