Kindergarten and First Grade visits Civic Center

Howe Elementary kindergarten and first graders rode busses to the Des Moines Civic Center to enjoy  The Rainbow Fish.

This show was performed by the Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia on January 17th.  Students loved the huge entertaining  black-light puppets and comfy seats.  The performance focused on the joy of giving to others.  Two other companion stories by Marcus Pfizer were also a part of the performance: Rainbow Fish Discovers the Deep Sea and Opposites.  Students enjoyed reading books this week by this author in preparation for today’s performance.
